Changing the lives of orphans and their communities around the world

Who are we?

The Precious Foundation is a Christian UK Registered Charity that provides relief through the provision of funds, goods and services for orphans around the world. We are committed to providing shelter, food, clothing, education and inspiring orphans in order to deliver the love and security they need, which will give them hope of a good future and help them reach their full potential.

The charity was founded by Tope Pearson in 2009 in response to the needs of orphans in Nigeria, Bulgaria, Israel and India, where currently there is minimal aid. The name Precious was taken from one of the orphans Tope had compassion for. There are 6 Trustees in total who are all 100% committed to ensuring the money and goods go to where it is intended. As charity trustees, the directors receive no remuneration for their service and meet twice a year to make strategic decisions.

Trustees: Ajibola Abiola-Ajimobi, Selina Wang, Jacqueline Coomar, Janine Binns, Vikki Jackson, and Heather Bones.

Our Vision

Relieving orphans in their suffering throughout the world by providing a ministry where orphans and their local communities can come into their inheritance for the glory of God.

Our objectives can be summarised as follows:

  • Develop existing orphanages
  • Build new orphanages
  • Create education opportunities
  • Improve health in communities

Whilst developing existing orphanages around the world, the charity also put funds to building a new orphanage in Abuja, Nigeria. Children will be accepted regardless of race, colour, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability or cultural background, from ages 0 to 18 years. The charity hopes to provide for some of their needs during their upbringing with a view of forging links with local churches, educational institutions and agencies that can also provide opportunities for further/higher education and work later on in life.

In the past, the charity joined the pastors of New Life Assemblies Church, in prayers to support developments of the new orphanage from scratch, taking on 50 new orphans initially. The long-term plan was to build a maternity wing attached to the orphanage in order to avoid abortions and unwanted new born baby deaths. The charity had raised funds for legals fees to get the registration certificate but regarding the premises, funding needs to be gathered by other sources, to get the Abuja project started - donations will mainly come from NGO's. This is therefore a long-term project.

The charity regularly helps orphans in India, Israel, and Kenya.
